When the edibles market was broken and nobody could trust their dose, a Boulder,CO resident set out to fix it, one chew at a time.
The Beginning

“There was no consistency in dosages. Consumer trust was shaky. Someone had to build the standard.”
In 2009, a licensed medical cannabis grower named James Howler looked around at the edibles market and saw chaos. Products claiming the same potency delivered wildly different experiences. Patients couldn’t rely on a single bite.
So instead of selling his trim to dispensaries, Howler walked into his kitchen. He tried infusing a variety of treats, and discovered that taffy absorbed cannabis oil more consistently than anything else. That serendipitous finding became the foundation of an industry standard.
Howler reached out to two friends, Dave and Eric, to help build the processes and identity around the product. They introduced Cheeba Chews in four Colorado dispensaries. Reviews were immediate and overwhelmingly positive. The Deca Dose became a legend in the space due to the potency and discreet size.
